The Pool
We bought an inflatable pool for the backyard. The water was too cold for mom and dad, but Eden didn't seem to have a problem with it.
More Videos
Nana and Papa came for a visit. Eden developed a little game with Papa where she wouldn't share any food with him and then would purposely show it to him while eating it -- just to be funny. Silly girl!

19-month update
Eden is changing and developing so rapidly -- it's amazing to watch her progress. She is learning new words on a daily basis and putting full sentences together. Her vocabulary is extensive. She also has a funny sense of humor. Here's an example of some of the things that she likes to say:
Here's a list of some of the other things that Eden loves:
- "Bless you, mama" (says it after I sneeze)
- "Squirrels eat nuts" and "Monkeys eat bananas"
- "Eden fall down" or "Eden sit here" (she still talks about herself in the 3rd person)
- "Dada, get it!" or "Dada, stop it!" or "Rula, stop!"
- "Mama, come here!" or "Mama, where are you?" or "Mama, how are you?" or "Mama, sit down!"
- "I love you, mama"
Here's a list of some of the other things that Eden loves:
- Favorite foods: Eggies, oatmeal, pizza, broccoli, blueberries
- Favorite books: Too many to list. She is growing out of picture books and starting to like books with more text.
- Favorite pastime: Going outside to do just about anything
- Smiles and laughs mostly all of the time, rarely in a difficult mood
- Still naps minimally (only about 1 hour per day), but a good night sleeper (usually 11 hours)
- Finally growing blondish hair (but only in the back)
- Weighs about 27lbs and is 2'8" tall
- Her eyes are a weird mix of blue, green, brown and grey (all colors!!)
- Isn't really scared of anything
- Still has difficulty learning colors
- Not really into t.v. yet (phew!)
- Can count to ten and can count to five in spanish
- Always on the go...she can't sit still
- Is very perceptive and has an amazing memory for people and things (she knows the names of the other kids' parents in her class, knows the names of our neighbors and where they live, knows the cars that people drive)

Our Trip to Hawaii
We took our first vacation with Eden and spent a week in Hawaii. Though it was a lot of work traveling with Eden, we had a nice, relaxing time. Eden really enjoyed being with us for one week, and she had a lot of fun going to the beach and pool. Here are some highlights from our trip:
This is how we carried Eden to several site seeing spots
Posing with Mama in front of some pretty flowers
We had a great time at the beach. Of the many times
that we've taken her to the beach so far, I think
this is the first time that she didn't eat sand.
Eden loved playing in the sand with her bucket and shovel.
She was too scared to go into the water.
Touching mama's belly
Hiking on some old lava flows
Hiking through a rain forest and
into a crater

Sitting in the Drawer
I think every kid has a version of this picture. One of Eden's favorite place to play these days in the tupperware drawer. She pulls it out and makes herself right at home. I wonder why tupperware is so fascinating at this age.

The Infamous Lemon Dance
Eden developed a new dance and it's all the rage in all the clubs. It's called The Lemon Dance. Here she is performing it for the first time on camera. It's not her best performance due to a distracting plastic lemon that she was chasing around, but you get the idea.

At the Park
We went to the park and had a play date with Eden's best school bud, Dylan. They had a great time playing on the jungle gym, swings, and feeding bread to the ducks. The ducks were a bit aggressive, so Eden didn't get too close despite her attempts to pet them. Eden finished the day in typical Eden fashion -- by eating all of Dylan's snacks.

Animal Sounds
It's almost impossible to get video of Eden when she's happily going through all her animal sounds. This video was the best I could get, although she was a little cranky and sleepy at the time.

River Dance
Eden picked up a new dance. Her other dance is this weird arms-only dance. I'll have to get video of that one and post it later. Oh, and as you can also see, she loves to smother Oswald.

Trying on Hats
One of Eden's favorite activities is to try on hats and show them to dada. Here she is going through her hat drawer.

Too Interested in the Camera
It's difficult to video Eden now because she always wants to see what's being filmed. The mirror seems to solve this problem. In this clip, she's getting ready for a bubble bath, and she's extra excited because she doesn't have any clothes on. You can hear her say her name which she pronounces as "Ennie."

My little girly girl
I always thought that Eden would be more of a tomboy, but she's actually turning into a girly girl. She has a thing for accessories -- shoes, hats and sunglasses. She loves to try them on and admire herself in the mirror. She also loves to show whatever she's trying on to dada. Here she is wearing a hat that we bought her on Sunday. This hat is so ridiculous, but she is a little cutie, I have to say.

15-Month Update
We took Eden to the doctor for her 15-month check up and shots. Here are her stats:
25 lbs
31" tall
19" head (still 95%)
I'm not just saying this because Eden is my baby, but she really does have a very advanced vocabulary for her age. The doctor says that children who are smart are usually more challenging when they are young. Oftentimes, they are very independent. I guess we are in for some trouble...

Playing Kitchen
Eden loves the kitchen that Theresa and family gave her for Christmas. She plays with the pan, puts it into the oven, turns on the stove, and serves coffee. It's been a little difficult to get video of her doing this, but I managed to get a few. Oh, and one more thing, notice in the first video how she tells me no (by shaking her head) when I asked her to turn on the oven and stove. Yes, Eden has started to tell me no already. It seems early, doesn't it?

The Children's Museum
We took Eden to Carter's old stomping ground at the Children's Museum. I can now see why Kim took Carter here so often. Eden had a blast. She liked the painting room and the water room the most. This is probably the only place that I'll ever let her paint on the walls and get drenched while playing with water.

I'm a big girl now!
Eden's been telling us when she has poo-poo, and she's been talking about pee-pee lately, so I thought it was time to get her a potty. So far, she likes to sit on it and also likes the fact that it's sitting next to mama's potty. We'll see how long it takes for her to actually use it.

Performing for the camera
It's getting harder and harder to get Eden to perform for the camera. Mostly, she wants to watch what I'm filming. She's also been a little uncooperative. In any case, I managed to get some video of her saying her name and telling us how old she is. She doesn't know how to say her name correctly. Instead, she says "Ennie."
