Sick Baby

I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, but Eden finally got her first cold while we were in Phoenix. She has been so miserable. Sick babies are no fun. Needless to say, we are all exhausted. Below is a picture I took when she was a little less cranky. Check out the red eyes and runny nose. Poor thing!

Happy 5 Month Birthday!

I can’t believe that my baby is already 5 months old!  This has been a big month for Eden as she seems to have developed quite a bit.  She loves to make lots of noises, including screaming and vibrating her lips together.  In fact, if you screech at her, she usually screams right back.  She also started to nap quite a bit more.  Of course, this happened as soon as daddy took over (go figure!).  Eden has been noticing lots of little details around her like the light fixture in the kitchen, patterns on my shirt, and the cat.  Her favorite past time includes playing in her exersaucer (as seen above).  Happy Birthday, BY!

Eden Loves Fruit

We’ve known for a while now that Eden loves fruit. It all started with an apple. I let her taste a slice of my apple and she seemed to like it, so we put it into a tea bag and let her suck on it and she loved it. Since the apple, she’s tried asian pear, mango, and grapes, and she loved all of them. This probably has something to do with all of the fruit I ate while I was pregnant. Below, she is trying cantaloupe for the first time. It’s her favorite fruit so far.

Taking the Bottle

One of our main concerns with me going back to work was whether or not Eden was going to take the bottle. She rejected the bottle completely around 2 months old, and since then, we’ve been trying to get her used to taking bottles. She has been doing well, but we had one small hiccup on my first day back at work when Eden rejected her first bottle of the day. Since then, she’s been taking the bottle like a champ. Eden likes her bottle so much that she started holding it up on her own (with daddy’s help, of course).

Back to Work — Daddy’s Turn!!

After 4.5 months of leave, Eden’s chief care taker and blogger returned to work last week. It’s now daddy’s turn to take over the daytime reigns of child care. Since daddy doesn’t blog, our fans can expect a decrease in blog activity. Aside from not shaving, daddy is also tasked with taking some interesting pictures and video of his excursions with Eden.
